How to Decorate for Your Princess Party

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

Decorations are an important part of any party, and when you’re having a princess-themed soiree, they’re even more integral to creating that magical environment for your child and her royal guests! Check out our decorating and princess party ideas for plenty of inspiration for your upcoming event.

How to Decorate for Your Princess Party

Pick a theme.

Decorating your space around the color scheme of your child’s favorite princess is a great way to have cohesive decor. Shades of blue, white, and silver would be lovely for a Cinderella party, and purple and green are perfect for an Ariel-inspired soiree. Using a color scheme will help tie everything together for a beautiful day.

Cheap (or free!) decorations can go a long way.

Don’t be afraid to decorate with items you find around the house or pick up from the dollar store. Perhaps you have some old wedding decorations boxed up somewhere; those could be repurposed into fairytale decor easily! Balloons, streamers, and glitter are all inexpensive and can really make an impact.

Keep in mind the age of your partygoers.

If you’re throwing a princess party for a two-year-old, you don’t have to go all out on fancy decorations. They won’t notice whether you spent $20 or $200 decorating the party space, so there’s no need to go overboard. Older children really appreciate the added magic of a beautifully decorated space, and might like to take photos to document their special day.

Enlist the help of friends and family to decorate.

Decorating can be hard work, and unlike our fairytale friends, we don’t have usually have helpful woodland creatures to assist us. Don’t be afraid to ask friends or family to show up a couple of hours early to help you put the finishing touches on your party decor.
